Welcome to Naro-Moro Holiday Properties in the Scottish Highlands

Balintore Harbour and Shandwick Bay sands

This is Shandwick Bay, a small and picturesque former fishing village nestled neatly on the eastern seaboard of Ross-shire in Northern Scotland - a quintessential Scottish fishing village boasting a mile of clean golden sand, bordered on the north by the village of Balintore, and on the south by soaring sea cliffs where nesting seabirds thrive.

We have two holiday properties which can be let as separate units or together as one let. Together they will sleep up to 16 people very comfortably.

Naro-Moro Villa is a former family home. Spaciously designed and beautifully finished and furnished - sleeping eight to ten.

Naro-Moro Lodge is a luxury holiday cottage situated adjacent to the villa. The Lodge has been professionally designed and fitted out with all modern conveniences and sleeps six.

Shandwick is well situated in a part of Easter Ross providing good roads for daily excursions to the surrounding countryside, villages and towns. The adjoined villages of Balintore and Hilton are easy walking distance from the cottage, together with Portmahomack (seven miles away) offer good restaurants and pubs. The entire area is dotted with excellent Golf Courses all within easy driving distance at Tain, Dornoch, Portmahomack, Brora, Bonar Bridge, Invergordon, Alness - a golfing paradise with 16 courses within 35 mile radius.

Enjoy breakfast on the veranda in the peace of a Highland village while the sun rises over the firth. Step out onto the soft clean golden sands of Shandwick Bay

Local towns including Tain (Scotland's oldest Royal Burgh), Invergordon, a former Royal Navy berth and Alness all have good shopping centres, hotels and restaurants. Swimming pools and fitness centres can be found at Tain, Invergordon and Alness. During winter there is plenty of opportunity for wildfowl shooting for geese and duck. Fishing for Sea Trout and loch fishing can also be arranged for your visit.

Ross-shire is a beautiful and peaceful part of Scotland to visit with marvellous walks and splendid scenery. Enjoy days out in Wester Ross - at only 70 miles away Ullapool is well worth a visit. At the Falls of Shin Sutherland (25 miles away) salmon may be seen leaping the falls and rapids on their annual migration up-river to spawn. Here you will find Harrods Shop and restaurant owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed (Harrods of London fame) is also well worth a visit. At Helmsdale in Sutherland, the history and scenes of the Highland Clearances are remembered and portrayed in the Timespan centre.

Naro-Moro Villa and Lodge are open all year round and we look forward to meeting you.
