The Lodge is a new luxury holiday cottage located in Easter Ross in North Scotland - literally a
stone's throw from the beach. The property has been professionally designed and fitted out with all modern conveniences.
It sleeps six with plenty of private parking, and lies just two minutes from beautiful Shandwick Bay and local harbour at Balintore offering
easy access to fishing and local shops. This holiday cottage is specially designed for relaxing holiday accommodation.
This is Shandwick Bay, a small and picturesque former fishing village
nestled neatly on the eastern seaboard of Easter Ross in Northern Scotland - a quintessential Scottish fishing village.
The village boasts a mile of clean
golden sand, bordered on the north by the village of Balintore, and on the south by soaring sea cliffs where nesting seabirds thrive.
The Lodge is owned and looked after by Jackie and Hilda Vass who
have lived at Naro-Moro for 46 years. The family have a small joinery business. With Jackie retired
their two sons now run the business, although Jackie still 'keeps his hand in' making stairs and bits and pieces.
Never far away from the tools, Jackie's hobby is making Celtic Harps.
Shandwick is well situated in a part of Easter Ross providing good roads for daily excursions to the surrounding countryside, villages and
towns. The adjoined villages of Balintore and Hilton are easy walking distance from the cottage, together with Portmahomack (seven miles away)
offer good restaurants and pubs.
The entire area is dotted with excellent Golf Courses all within easy driving distance at Tain, Dornoch, Portmahomack,
Brora, Bonar Bridge, Invergordon, Alness - a golfing paradise with 16 courses within 35 mile radius.
Local towns including Tain (Scotland's oldest Royal Burgh), Invergordon, a former Royal Navy berth and Alness all have good shopping centres, hotels
and restaurants. Swimming pools and fitness centres can be found at Invergordon and Alness.
During winter plenty of wildfowl shooting for geese and duck can be found. Fishing for Sea Trout and loch
fishing can also be arranged for your visit.
Ross-shire is a beautiful and peaceful part of Scotland to visit with marvellous walks and splendid scenery. Enjoy days out
in Wester Ross - at only 70 miles away Ullapool is well worth a visit. At the Falls of Shin Sutherland (25 miles away) salmon
may be seen leaping the falls and rapids on their annual migration up-river to spawn. Here you will
find Harrods Shop and restaurant owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed (Harrods of London fame) is also well worth a visit.
At Helmsdale in Sutherland, the history and scenes of the Highland Clearances are remembered and portrayed in the Timespan centre.
The Lodge is open all year round and we look forward to meeting you.
